Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is famous for playing hard-edged characters or wisecracking characters in action films. He has been in over $2.5 billion dollars worth of films. Walter Bruce Willis was born March 19, 1955 in Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of whom were living at an United States military base. His family moved to the United States shortly after his birth. He grew up in Penns Grove (New Jersey) where his mother worked as bank clerk while his father was an electrician and worked in a factory. Willis was interested in acting at the age of high school. When he worked at a New York City café, the cafe was "discovered". He then began to appear in several off-Broadway productions. A night, he worked as a bartender, and was spotted by a casting director who was impressed by his character. He was looking for bartenders for one small part in a film. After many auditions, Willis contributed minor film appearances which were usually uncredited. He then getting the role of private surveillance "David Addison" along with sultry Cybill Shepherd in the smash romantic comedy series on television Moonlighting (1985). The sarcastic and wise-cracking P.I. Some view it as an exercise in preparation for Willis his role in Die Hard (1988), where he defeated the thieves of a gang at a Los Angeles skyscraper. The sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990), Willis reprised his character as McClane. The story was set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to return an unjust South American general. The film's excellent sales at the box office led to an sequel to Die Hard with bloodshed (1995). This time, Samuel L. Jackson starred as a shrewd Harlem shopowner, who was unwittingly forced into helping McClane during a terror attack on a hot New York City day.
